Do not worry. I joined the military just after 17th birthday (JULY 1961).
When the recruiter said he is ours, my mother said NO your just borrowing him. Well 22 1/2 trays later I retired. He will be fine

Hello Kirsten! Like David White, I joined the army just two weeks after my 17th birthday in 1969... and retired after 25 years continued active service as a Sergeant Major.

I assure you, we do take very good care of our soldiers. We are duty bound to make sure they recieve the best of training, equipment and medical care.

He is never alone. He has a built-in support network of friends, comrades, NCO's and officers who will watch over him as if he were their own brother and/or son.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time if you have any worries or fears. You can reach me on Facebook or my email: g_forsberg@cox.net.

Best wishes to you and your son,
Sincerely,

George Forsberg
