US Family Health Plan Overview

The US Family Healthcare Plan is an option for health care from the TRICARE Prime program offered by the military. This is available to persons that are eligible, even individuals over 65 years of age, who live near specific selected facilities on the Gulf, East, and West coasts. This is generally regarded as one of the better health care plan as it has a satisfaction rating 40% higher than the average satisfaction rating for other plans. This is one of the only plans that covers retired persons without requiring them to participate in Medicare. The annual enrollment fees are approximately $230 for a single person and $460 for a family.

If any members of your family are eligible for Medicare Part B, it is recommend that they enroll. This is because if you are a member of Medicare Part B, your enrollment fees and copayments will be waived and this even covers end stage renal disease. The only downside to this plan is that it is not offered everywhere. So, if you think you may be eligible, it is a good idea to talk to qualified personnel and get enrolled as soon as possible.
