Tricare for Life Immunization

Military Authority Member
CHARLES MARTIN October 5th, 2011

I am a military retiree on Medicare and Tricare for Life. My family doctor has prescriberd the Shingles shots for myself and my wife. I have been trying for over 18 months to get them at Fort Dix. I real wehere you can get them at a pharmacy, but when I go there, they want $250.00 per shot. I'm told one has to go to a Tricare Provider. My doctor is Tricare Provider, but she says the shots have to come from a pharmacy. I don't know where to go. I keep tryiny Fort Dix. They tell me to call, I dcll and they say they will be in on this day. I call and they say they are already gone. I have had serious problems with Shingles requiring hospitization (two times) and it is recommeded I get the shots.

Just had VA do my Shingles shot. No problem asking them and getting it. Not sure about wife. Contact Tricare advocate. It works.
