Veteran's Pensions Overview

There are two pension benefits available for eligible veterans who are unable to work and are on a limited income. The Veterans Disability Pension or the Veterans Pension for Veterans 65 or Older are options for veterans of wartime service who are 65 or older who are not disabled.

How it works: On either of these pension plans, the VA pays a monthly amount that equals the difference between your countable family income and a prescribed annual limit, based on your current circumstances. See “VA Pension Benefits Eligibility” for a chart of annual family income limits.

There are also additional benefits such as Aid and Attendance (A&A) and Housebound Benefits.
