Veteran Disability Compensation

Veterans who have incurred a service-related disability may be eligible for more than $3,100 in monthly benefits. These are benefits paid to veterans who were injured or contracted diseases while on active duty or which were worsened by active military service. Benefits may also be paid to some veterans disabled from VA health care.

Veterans who have a service-related disability and were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable may be eligible for Disability Compensation.

Basic benefit amounts ranges from $123 to more than $3,100 monthly. Circumstances that affect the benefit amount paid include:

  • Severity of disability or limb loss
  • Number of dependents (spouse, children, or parents)
  • Disability of spouse
