US Family Health Plan (Out-of-pocket) Costs

The US Family Health Care Plan is an option of the TRICARE Prime health care plan and is the only health care to offer services to members that are 65 years of age and older. The only drawback to the plan is that you must live in one of the designated health care service areas to enroll. The out of pocket costs of this plan are pretty reasonable compared to many of the other plans. If you are active duty service personnel you do not have to pay any enrollment fees or any out of pocket costs of any type. If you are not, there is an annual enrollment fee of $230 per year for each individual or $460 a year for families. This is quite similar to the way the Prime plan is. There is a $12 per visit Outpatient Care cost if you are not an active duty member. The only other out of pocket costs would be for inpatient care, at $11 per day with a $25 minimum charge.
