TRICARE Prime Overseas (Out-of-pocket) Costs

The TRICARE Prime Overseas (Out-of-pocket) Costs are not as hight as one might think. This is because TRICARE Prime Overseas is a type of TRICARE Prime coverage. So, just like TRICARE Prime, anyone that enrolls in the TRICARE Prime Overseas plan will be subject to the same types of out of pocket expense. In most cases, active duty members will have no out of pocket expenses. If you are eligible for the Prime Overseas plan, then you are already an active member and can start taking advantage of the benefits of this plan. Unfortunately, family members of deployed active duty service members, or activated reserve or guard members, will not be eligible for this specific coverage. They can however, in some cases, sign up for the TRICARE Prime plan. One of the only stipulations for family member eligibility for the Prime plan is that they live in an area where this plan is active. This is because the plan requires you to be treated by a specific primary care manager and if there are none in your area, you will not be eligible.
